West Virginia is the home of the Mountaineers, and the Mountaineer Experience in the woods of Greenbrier Mountain provides guests with an opportunity to learn about some of the area's favorite outdoor pursuits. The three-part excursion includes archery, air rifles and tomahawk throwing.
Try to stay on target as you learn the feel and techniques of traditional archery with experienced instructors and permanent facilities. Provided equipment includes traditional recurve bows and arrows.
Guests can also test their accuracy with high-powered air rifles. Participants will have the opportunity to shoot at a wide variety of kinetic air rifle targets. The range is designed to offer guests of all ages the chance to be successful.
The final experience is the unique and traditional skill of tomahawk throwing. Under the instruction of an experienced guide, guests will learn the proper technique to stick the tomahawk in a wooden target. Participants will test their abilities at different range stations and varying targets, yardage and angles.
With the basics down, it will be time for a competition to determine the ultimate mountaineer.
