Amanda began her studies at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC where she received an Associate’s degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies. Working as a server and bartender at a local wine bar where she developed a passion for wine and food.
After school, Amanda moved to Georgia to work as a restaurant supervisor at the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds, Lake Oconee. There, she completed her introductory course with the Court of Master Sommeliers as well as her Certified Specialist of Wine exam. Both exams, in addition to working as the hotel’s sommelier, helped to further her wine education.
Amanda moved to West Virginia in the beginning of 2018 to follow her passion for wine. While at The Greenbrier, she successfully passed her level two Certified Sommelier exam and received the Walter Clore Scholarship for finishing top in her class. While working at the Greenbrier, Amanda plans to pursue the third level of Advanced Sommelier.
