What was your favorite memory from your Wedding at The Greenbrier?

It’s hard to choose just one honestly. Since we had a long weekend celebration, it felt like I had a wedding each day. From the first welcome party in the Congressional Suite, to the Rehearsal Dinner, to the actual wedding day, and to the post-wedding brunch, it was a packed weekend of joyful celebrations. It might sound cliché, but walking down the aisle and looking at my husband-to-be at the time was a feeling of pure happiness that I will never forget. I also loved how all of our guests were so excited to be there. Most of them had never visited The Greenbrier before and were simply blown away by its elegance. It created this endless enthusiasm and energy for the entire weekend.

How did you hear about The Greenbrier?

I grew up in Washington, D.C. and have known about it since I was a kid. I always thought it was the classiest venue in the country to have a black tie wedding. I love that it’s the oldest resort in America.

What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?

We wanted a clean and classic look with a 1940’s vibe. The Greenbrier is so beautiful, colorful, and majestically decorated that we went with very simple décor (white flowers, gold candles, etc.) to balance everything out.

After the wedding was over, what was your favorite detail from the wedding events?

There were too many to choose from! I absolutely loved the grand ballroom with white glove dinner service where we had our reception. I literally felt like I was in a palace. The band, Attraction, also absolutely made the wedding. Our guests were dancing the entire time and I’ve never seen that much energy at a wedding before. In fact, 3 guys split their pants because they were dancing so hard. The countless photo opportunities were incredible. From the elegant staircase in the Presidential Suite, to the grand piano in the Garden Room, to my favorite room of all - the Victorian Writing Room, our photographer captured hundreds of amazing photos that we will cherish forever.

How would you describe your wedding planning experience at The Greenbrier?

The Greenbrier made everything stress-free and seamless.  They worked with me to create a one-of-a-kind menu, helped us select an incredible band, and provided insightful opinions on the priest, lighting, flowers, décor, and flow of the whole weekend. Maren and her team were with me every step of the way the entire weekend. I cannot rave about The Greenbrier enough. Everything was simply perfect.
