What was your favorite memory from your Wedding at The Greenbrier?
Both of us loved getting to see our vision in person for the first time! In being one of the first weddings in The Greenbrier Chapel, we had never been in the completed ceremony location until the night before the wedding. Between the breathtaking chapel and the decorated reception space at Kate’s Mountain, it honestly felt like my wedding Pinterest board came to life.
How did you hear about The Greenbrier?
Stephanie has known about The Greenbrier since she was a child and has visited numerous times over the years. Justin remembers hearing about The Greenbrier from a travel show on the Travel Channel, but had never visited until he and Stephanie went for the first time as a couple in the summer of 2014.
What was the inspiration for your décor/theme of your wedding?
I’ve always loved the idea of a romantic wedding where the main goal was for all of our guests to feel the love between the bride and groom and for everyone to have an amazing time in the process. Justin owns a farm in West Virginia and wanted a more rustic feel to our wedding, so I figured I would combine rustic and romantic to fit both of our personalities. Between The Greenbrier Chapel and Kate’s Mountain, our wedding was beyond what we could have ever imagined for ourselves. On one hand there was the elegance that The Greenbrier brought to the table with amazing décor and a horse and carriage send off after the ceremony. Then on the other hand there was Kate’s Mountain with an open air overlook of the mountains, bulb lights hanging from wooden beams, and oversized stone fireplaces. The Greenbrier team, along with Gillespie's, honestly made our dreams come true.

After the wedding was over, what was your favorite detail from the wedding events?
Basically all of the details from our reception. The food was to die for, the candy bar was always stocked, and the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor, dancing! We also loved getting a pizza delivered to our cottage the night of our wedding and eating our leftover desserts the next day!
How would you describe your wedding planning experience at The Greenbrier?
Absolutely fantastic! Maren and her team were so organized and thought of everything! I didn’t realize how detail oriented I was until planning this wedding, but Maren stuck with me through every idea that popped into my head and helped it become reality. We have received so many compliments on our entire wedding weekend from various guests and I know it wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team at the Greenbrier.
