Horseback Riding
Horses and The Greenbrier share an inseparable bond and a timeless connection. Early visitors to White Sulphur Springs arrived on horseback or stagecoach, a tradition that’s beautifully captured in the earliest photographs of the property.
That legacy continues today with the opportunity for guests to ride horseback throughout the resort, including trips through the woods on Greenbrier Mountain for more experienced riders. From leisurely rides around the resort, where guests will see historical sites and wildlife all around our championship golf courses nestled between the mountains, to more adventurous escapades through the woods, every journey is expertly guided. It’s a unique and unforgettable way to explore The Greenbrier’s enchanting landscape.

Policies & Must-Know Information
- Reservations must be canceled 24 hours before the time of the activity. Guests will be charged the full cost of the activity if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the start of the activity. For corporate and special events, reservations must be canceled 72 hours before the time of the activity.
- Riding is English style using English saddles. Riding helmets are provided for guests and are required to be worn at all times while riding. A liability waiver must be signed at Kate’s Mountain Adventures by guests aged 18 and older. Guests younger than age 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. The minimum height recommendation is 4′ 6″ and the maximum weight for horseback riding is 250 lbs.
- Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required (jeans or jodhpurs).
