Q&A with Dr. Whittaker
David R. Whittaker, MD, is an accomplished physician, who has experienced a little of everything during his decorated career. He graduated from the US Naval Academy before attending medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His career path took him to the USS Theodore Roosevelt, where he was a battleship surgeon during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and later worked at Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. From there, he was the designated physician for the White House Medical Evaluation and Treatment unit, caring for our nation’s leaders. Dr. Whittaker and his wife are now Greenbrier Sporting Club members and call the mountains of West Virginia home. During this session, he’ll share stories from his career and information about vascular health, as well as fielding questions from those assembled.
